Our new Healthy Offer of the Week is 20% off lettuce. Here are 15 fun recipes using lettuce. Most of them you can use any type of lettuce you like.
Also, I didn’t just post salads. 😉 Check them out below.
What a fun and fabulous way to change up the classic BLT. Stuff the same ingredients in a tomato for a fun presentation. Plus, without the bread it is a little lighter than your typical BLT.
This recipe will have you longing for your lunch. It has the crunchy, creamy and oh so yummy factor, plus it’s so simple. You can whip these up in less than 15 minutes, grab and go, or sit down with the family for a fabulous and healthy lunch.
Now this is a hearty salad that won’t make you feel like you are eating a typical salad at all. Romaine lettuce is much healthier for you than iceberg and grilling it along with adding bacon, blue cheese and Worcestershire sauce gives it a smokey and hearty flavor like nothing you have ever had before. Not to mention it’s finally time to bust out those grills.
Now when I saw this while doing my search for some great lettuce recipes I was floored. A healthy vitality drink that included lettuce and vodka? Well, here it is! If you don’t drink, just delete the vodka. I must say putting it in a martini glass also makes it very pretty.
Yum, yum and completely vegetarian. Of course if you are making this for the kids you can decrease the heat, but I like spicy so would probably make a batch for me and a small batch for my little one. Most lettuce wraps I’ve found use chicken, beef or pork so when I found a new way to spice up tofu, I had to post it.
I keep thinking I’ll get sick of lettuce wraps and then discover more fun ways to make them. This one I had to include because it uses my favorite cooking tool – the slow cooker. Plus, the ingredients sound so tasty with stuff everyone will like. My husband is very picky, but I think I can win him over with this dish for sure.
Of course I can’t do a recipe post about lettuce without some salad recipes. I promise not to give you the same old boring recipes and scoped the web for the most interesting and bold salads I could find. This one is filled with a great BBQ flavor and is super filling.
Here is another of what I consider interesting and different salads. You can use any lettuce you like, and I love asparagus as well. I’ve never tried lentils in a salad but this really makes me excited to try it out – not to mention I love the citrus and use of champagne vinegar (though if you don’t have that I would recommend using white or red wine vinegar). If you don’t have that either, add some citrus to plain vinegar.
I really think beets are one of those veggies that are totally under-utilized and forgotten about. One day beets happened to be on sale at the grocery store so I bought some and thought about how I hadn’t had beets probably since I was a kid. They are so good and my daughter absolutely loves them. They are even better roasted.
Okay, BLAT to me really doesn’t sound very appealing so I’d probably change the name but the recipe is delicious. This combines bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomatoes wrapped up in some eggs. Perfect for breakfast, brunch or even dinner. I would serve with some roasted herb potatoes and sour cream.
Here is a healthy green juice for you. These are all the craze these days and lots of people spend tons of money on juice cleansers. Why not make them yourself and just have a refreshing healthy juice on hand all the time? (Also, check out this post on the health benefits of juicing kale)
I love me some fajitas. One of my favorite dishes. This takes the tortilla out and replaces it with some crisp lettuce. Same great taste minus the carbs. Use a Boston lettuce or Romaine to make sure it can hold up to all those tasty juices.
If you have read my other blog posts you know I love pizza. I found this one that looks great! Throw some fresh, crisp iceberg lettuce (or whatever other lettuce you like) on top for a great crunch. Love the Mexican spice blends too.
Here is a good old classic Mexican Pizza recipe. After seeing the picture I had to include it!
I try to keep my featured recipes healthy since we’re featuring our Healthy Offer of the Week. Here is one I found for a healthy taco dip that you can feel good about eating and serving to your friends. Maybe try this dip with the Vodka Vitally drink. Your friends will be impressed and go home feeling good about what you served them.
Now that you have some more creative ideas of what to do with lettuce get out there and get cooking plus save 20%!
